Small income earners to receive special bank loans
Low income families nationwide will receive preferential interest-free loans, according to a decision by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on April 9.
Under the decision, small income families in 61 of the poorest districts in provinces nationwide, will be able to access VND5 million from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to buy breeding cattle, poultry or aquatic animals, or to develop crafts.
In addition, below-average income earners will also receive subsidized 50 percent loan interest from state commercial banks.
The decision also gives special treatment to business households, enterprises, cooperatives, farm owners and agriculture and forestry processing units in poor districts.
They will also be offered a subsidized rate of 50 percent of interest at state commercial banks. This will help increase agricultural production, invest in factories and promote agricultural produce.
