Montgomerie Links Vietnam completes golf course
The Montgomerie Links Vietnam in the central province of Quang Nam said on Friday that after two-plus years of planning and construction the golf course had completed its final four holes for the informal opening on August 17.
According to a press release, the 70-hectare golf course includes real estate areas, a 3,000-square-meter clubhouse and a stylish cafe with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The front nine were opened last year and the grand opening ceremony is slated for March.
The golf course was designed by European Ryder Cup captain and eight-time European PGA Tour Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie.
"We have many new members, a lot of them women," Jon Tomlinson, general director of the golf course, said in the press release.
The country club has 180 members and is attracting 30 to 40 players on weekdays and four to five times as many on the weekends.
The real estate area of 54 villas, the Estates at Montgomerie Links, is under construction. The villas range from 276 to 395 square meters and are situated on plots as big as 700 square meters, About eight villas have been sold.
Indochina Capital, owner of Montgomerie Links Vietnam, has invested US$45 million in the project.
Less than two years ago, the luxury resort and spa The Nam Hai as another Indochina Capital property opened to worldwide a claim on a site just five kilometers south of the golf course.
