Gold price rises
Gold price increased by VND90,000 a tael (1.3 ounces) on April 14 , selling at VND19.7 million (US$1126) a tael at the Sai Gon Jewelry (PNJ), Phu Nhuan Jewelry and Dong A Bank, and Sacombank Jewelry.
PNJ bought gold at VND19.66 million a tael, VND400,000 higher than the world price. According to gold sellers, in recent days gold investors were buying rather than selling.
In related news, the US dollar against the dong in jewelry stores stood higher. One dollar fetches VND18,000 and sells at VND18,088.
