Gold price above VND 27 million per tael again
At 11 am today, SJC gold prices listed by the Saigon Jewelry Holding Company in Ho Chi Minh City were put at VND 26.85 million a tael for buying and VND 27.15 million a tael for selling.
Thang Long Dragon gold prices by the Bao Tin Minh Chau company were VND 26.8 million a tael for buying and VND 27.2 million a tael for selling.
That demand for buying gold has inclined to increase at the end of the previous week and at the beginning of this week has again led to the increase in domestic gold price after two days of reduction thanks to the State Bank of Vietnam’s announcement on allowing the qualified enterprises to import gold again.
According to the Wall Street Journal, gold futures rose on Monday as a drop in the U.S. dollar attracted more investors into the precious metal. Gold for December delivery ended up US$22.50, or 2%, at US$1,139.20 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. In electronic trading, it rose as high as US$1,144.20 an ounce.
