• Candles smell luxurious. Blending aromatherapy and candles is another hot trend for interior Feng Shui decorating ideas. Many candles claim the use of all “natural” or aromatherapy. Check the label of the candle to ensure the use of real essential oils in the candle. If the oils are natural and not synthetic, the candle serves the purpose of relaxation or stimulation as the oils intend.

Candles are beautiful. Candles come in every color of the rainbow. Follow the chart of the bagua and place candles in the areas of the home you want to enhance. Metaphors are used liberally in Feng Shui. Place red in a fame and reputation area to get your business name out into the public. Place a white candle in your workroom if you want to spark the creative juices. Place a yellow candle in the center of the home or office if you want to honor the heart of the space and support a healthy lifestyle. Purple is the wealth color, add a smaller votive in this area as wood is the element of wealth, and you don’t want too much fire that will “burn up the wood or your money”.

 

• Candles go along for the ride. When traveling, hotel and motel rooms usually have stale air when you open the door. Light a small candle and let it burn for a short period of time. The scent as well as the element of fire will neutralize and purify the air.

 

• Candles light up your spirit. If you need the answer to a problem, lighting a candle in the helpful people area calls guidance from the Universe. You would be surprised how quickly the answer comes when you shed candlelight on a question with intention. Alters in a home are quite common and can be uplifting. Light candles on your home alter and feel the support and inspiration from within.

 

Candles require a certain amount of safety and maintenance. When the candle is done burning and the wick is gone, replace the candle as soon as possible. Not heaving a candle in a holder is unfinished business and not to full capability. Never leave candles unattended in any room, and keep them a safe distance from anything that could catch fire.
